DG444, just to clarify, those %s are %s of the total issued capital of LKE, not of the daily turnover.
On 17 Jun & 20 Jun, the new shorts represented well over 30% of the those days' turnovers. Subsequently, the new shorts % of turnover have reduced to be under 10% on 23/24/27 June.
In terms of overall outstanding shorts (refer graph below), the peak of 98.56m shorts representing 7.32% of all LKE shares was reached on 20 Jun, & then changed only very marginally on 21/22 Jun (98.25m/97.17m), the latter two days having had huge daily turnovers of 89m/140m shares.
ASIC will report tomorrow on outstanding shorts at 23 Jun when another 140m shares were turned over for a decline of 16.7%, with LKE reached as low as 67.5c.
