The Mountain Pass Rare Earth Mine, located in California, USA, is one of the largest rare earth element mines in the world. It is the only rare-earth mining and processing facility in the United States and supplies a significant portion of the world's rare-earth production. The mine is owned by MP Materials Corp., and as of 2020, it supplied 15.8% of the world's rare-earth production. It contains one of the richest deposits of rare earth elements globally and plays a crucial role in the rare-earth supply chain
