My understanding is Tsingshan buys all the NPI NIC produces at more or less SMM NPI 10-14% pricing. To quote from the NIC literature:
- Tsingshan has an "irrevocable undertaking to purchase all of the nickel pig iron produced by the Company’s RKEF operations." (https://nickelmines.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/2353460.pdf)
- "NPI sales contracts are based on the prevailing prices for NPI in China, with minor adjustments applied for: Nickel grade specifications, Freight and Foreign exchange" (https://nickelmines.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/pjn10794-1.pdf slide 15)
