CuDeco will do well if price of copper is obtained at anywhere near current levels ; having open cuts as against the more expensive underground mining being a distinct advantage.
Copper price at these levels will benefit high cost mines and keep them going. It may even spark some interest in the junior explorers but the problem remains of the lack of risk capital for that sector.
As for cost of transportation of getting product to market, this would have occupied Wayne McCrae's attention well before now.
In the time of severe drought in the north west, water obtained from the dewatering bores will come in handy as a cost saver.
These are interesting times for CuDeco as it cranks up to go into full production.
