I hope LMG are getting their ducks in a row quickly.

My read of the China / America relations situation is that since the Gallium / Germanium embargo is looking like a huge miss the next step will be to hit other specialty metals and the most strategic one is Magnesium metal. Expect action on this front in the next few weeks (or earlier). China are squirming because of Chip embargo issues, they need to hit back and I think one aspect will be Mg metal supply.

China produce 90% of world supply which is used to harden Aluminium sheeting. Without a few % Mg content, aluminium can't be used for a huge variety of uses unless the amount used (ie thickness) is greatly increased. Think beer cans for example. Then EV and Aircraft parts, many industrial trims, window frames etc.

Bechtel are signed up to do large scale Mg from Nickel slag in Malaysia for a reason.
It isn't because they want to work for a $90m minnow of a company.
