with the depressed price of oil, unconventional sources and global uncertainty any non-spec oil/gas share you but at present is going to be a mid-long term hold. You could have bought STO yesterday and lost over 25% overnight, and it is/was considered a blue-chip energy share.
One thing is for sure, if you're not in it....you're not going to win it. These prices are cheap in the long run.
