I understand that very well - whether buying for long or short you are trying to get the max amount of the rise/fall. The very brave, very smart or biggest risk takes get in the earliest. The same with exit. The more careful person etc they wait a bit longer for more confirmation to buy or exit. Therefore they make less profit but probably have more (number) profitable trades.
