LNG's shares have rocketed about 50 per cent since last Thursday.
Shares in aspiring liquefied natural gas producer LNG Ltd surged 21 per cent on Tuesday, a day after the company told the Australian Stock Exchange it was unaware of why its shares had run up sharply since last week.
Shares in the Houston-based, Australian-listed company have rocketed about 50 per cent since last Thursday to a five-month high of A$0.88.
LNG Ltd executives were not immediately available to comment on Tuesday's jump.
"The company does not have an explanation for the price change in the securities of the company," joint company secretary David Gardner said in a statement to the Australian stock exchange on Monday.
LNG Ltd is looking to build an 8 million tonnes a year LNG plant in Louisiana, called Magnolia LNG, and is awaiting regulatory approvals before making a final investment decision.
Other companies have delayed or shelved LNG projects over the past year following a 76 per cent slump in LNG prices since February 2014.
