Look im not sure either - it s accounting
Have a look at the IDG ENERGY Annual Report and the Chairmens comments in the first few pages about the vagaries of revenue and investment income. There has always been fun and games with these unrealised gains. The property trust revals were always interesting with valuation increases going to the bottom line. Thats great with compressing yields and cap rates - there quick to book em. Interesting when for instance retail property goes sour cap rates rise - rents fall, with AMAZON ONLINE ETC, theres going to be pressure to minimise the valuation - bottom line writedowns.
Anyway lets see this trade thing sort itself and get some BANKABLE BTA'S across the line.
The potential is massive - the risk is significant.
