But if someone can direct him to the widely acclaimed and authoritative investment text, "Fooled by Randomness - the Hidden Role of Chance in Life and in Markets" (author N Taleb ), reading it might help him prevent the sorts of rookie errors he keeps making.

Because being fooled by randomness is what seems to be happening here. In spades.
