Oz is an amazing place -- we again see the righties and everyone over the moon at the economy because of demand and prices for Iron and coal
yet - we get such a little percentage return --
the wealth that Oz would have flowing in in tidal waves every week - IF ONLY WE OWNED THE RESOURCE COMPANIES - would be just plain stunning -
if we owned even say half of the companies - we would indeed be the wealthiest nation on earth - in REAL terms - we would have been able to have a sovereign wealth fund that made others look like also rans
but, we don't - aside from the little bit we do own - we get a royalty flow -
one can only dream if Oz had actually had a national character that didn't make us sell anything off to the first or highest bidder that came along
