disappointing post there mate...children overboard and Tampa were blown out of all proportion ....Howard was likely to win that Tampa election, just like he was likely to lose the Joh for PM election ...as in those things were not principal reason for election result

I think with respect to lies...both Parties do it, but the definition of a lie now includes a broken commitment that was not fulfilled in the future. like the $270 dollar cheaper power bill promised, people say that's a lie... yet technically I don't think it was at the time! perhaps a misguided representation!

The most blatant lies are when someone lies about something they have just done...like Chalmers saying he didn't intervene to get rid of the Royal off $5 note...or Labor recently saying immigrant release fiasco was the responsibility of public servants in charge...turns out it was ministerial ...Albo saying he had been travelling in his car ( in urban areas) and did not know a boat had landed in W.A.! oh yes, he's told plenty!
