Why do you think there won't be a rate cut Moonie? Most of the opinion by economists which I've read are pointing to one this year? The economy has most definately slowed, unemployment has risen a tad and inflation is around 3%, not far from the RBA target. The $1000 wiil certainly provide some relief for cost of living pressures, as long as people don't access it and blow it on inflationary crap. I'd say the odds for a cut are quite low.
