The new budget gives $186 million for that. $8 Million for the ICT tool to also help pull down wait times.
But importantly, another $222 Million to reform the legislative framework. Which was another of the key recommendations of the RC interim report.
So the bulk of funding is to fix legislation.
It's gotten politicized because Dutton made a big deal about cutting public servants, despite the fact that a couple of hundred public servant hires in Canberra have been for the DVA, specifically to pull down these wait times.
If he hadn't done that, it wouldn't have become political.
