Just caught the tail end of an interview with Ted O'Brien on ABC radio.

What a lying snake he is. eek.png

However , among his ducking and weaving he let the cat out of the bag.

He wants coal to run until nuclear is built. His words.

To allow that transition would mean that new renewables would be halted to allow the future nuclear plant to fit in the place of baseload coal . Halting renewables is something that another one of the other COALition grubs Littleproud has recommended.

The interviewer suggested that coal will be closed in 10 years. O'Brien suggested that nuclear could be built in 10 years despite only moments before he was agreeing with the CSlRO's 15 year estimate. A very optimistic estimate imo.

So, the agenda has really been exposed. The COALition is simply trying to extend the life of coal fired power .

Unfortunately for the slimeball, his plan doesn't work.

Fossil fuel supplies about 60% of the east coast grid's annual electricity. A number that is reducing year on year. Nuclear baseload LCOE costings assume that the plant runs at 90% plus . A number that O'Brien referred to .
So , the argument that nuclear is remotely economic is false. Even if we dropped a baseload nuclear plant into the system today it would be losing money.
