By the COALition nominating former baseload coal sites, they have officially given up on SMRs.

Only 6 months ago they were talking them up. That's their first giant mistake.

So now they are going with the larger baseload nuclear model .

    Second giant mistake.

Mature fully depreciated coal fired baseload power, which is much cheaper than nuclear baseload by any measure, cannot compete with renewables in 2024. Renewables are sending them broke.

So now we have the COALition wanting to build an even more expensive baseload power station on the same site as the one that was going broke. And they want to give the superior and much cheaper competition a 25 year head start .

    Get the popcorn indeed.
