If you want a safe long term bet then ANZ is probably a good choice, especially as its relative pricing looks attractive against the other Majors...The sector as a whole may still be overvalued by 5-7% to rebase long term relative valuations to the wider non-bank industrials and banks abroad...
Remember Hollywood John is still ANZ's largest individual shareholder (so he says)...BUT he will be out the back door within 6-9 months...The bank has a number of good choices for the transition internally of the next CEO so there isn’t really an issue here.
