    They had the cash to outbid POS for the norilsk assets, but thought "if we buy these plants then we're stuck with these mined out low grade liabilities, and it will screw with our future"

    SIR are not as smart as POS. Thats pretty clear. You're foresight on this situation is going to ensure you'll be a millionaire out of your POS investment. No cardboard box and soup kitchen for you.
