Planting Gum Trees on verges should never have been allowed, but it is still done. Anyone planting them are brainless morons and should be held accountable for the damage they cause. There are plenty of places these type of trees can be planted so as not to harm the community. How many times do you see them with their branches hanging over roadways and houses dropping their limbs destroying cars and properties. If you are unlucky enough to have one in your yard that is creating issues around your home and is above a certain size and is classed as a tree of significance that the council will not let you remove, then they should be liable for any damage and lose of life it causes, but they are not. I bet everyone knows of someone who's been impacted by these trees. Why can't they just cut them down and plant more suitable trees instead. Trees of significance (Gums) have no place within housing and road verges ever. The joke on the century!
