EL1093 was due for renewal on 20 August 2012.
The Mining Act specified that when an application for renewal is lodged prior to the expiration date the licence continues with full force and effect until the application for renewal is determined.
EL1093 has not "expired" and in that respect PNGJacks comments are entirely misleading.
Indochine has fullfilled all of the relevant covenants of previous grant and therefore the Mining Advisory Council and the Minister for Mines , under the Laws of PNG, are legally compelled to renew EL1093 for a further 2 years.
