I know there are some from Caceres who watch and post here so I need to respect that. I do wonder if the rumoured battery manufacturer coming to Caceres would be seen as a positive by the locals or is it about the industrialisation of there area that people are against? XCS gave a good background to how past negative experiences have affected Spanish thinking.

Maybe even extra Govt. funding to establish a new Lithium battery relevant faculty at University of Extremadura would be seen as positive. But I agree, environmentally acceptable operation and re-instatement of the mine would be critical if I was a Caceres resident.

But I am not a resident and not my decision. In closing the Caceres community have a lot of power. They can say NO or they can play a hard bargain to the benefit of their city if the right incentives and safeguards are in place.
