Recent announcements of progress in drilling for Gold at Sunnyside, near Omeo have given those involved cause for optimism.

Last week Synergy Metals made a preliminary announcement that the company's diamond drill hole (SSDHA38) intersected seven

metres downhole of highly mineralised material with strong arsenopyrites and pyrites has led to much excitement.

The message is that visable gold up to 1mm in one of the cross veins within the intersection.

Chairman of Synergy, Bairnsdale based Michael Sadler, says he and the other directors are excited about the progress of the

drilling program. "It has given us cause for optimism." he said "and we're just one of three who believe their is enormous

amount of reason for optimism in the Omeo Region".

He said with three live projects now on the go in the area, there is room for some confidence. Mutiny Gold continues drilling

on the Cassilis reef (near Swifts Creek) and has completed most of the approvals process;Jabiru is in the later stages of its

base metal project at Benambra; and Synergy is in the mid stages of "proving up an amount of gold".

Mr Sadler said world gold prices are the main driver of exploration in the area.

Describing the process at Sunnyside Synergy says the "Diamond core has been cut and logged and sent away for assaying and

interpretation before the data can be completely assessed and incorporated into the geological model".
"Two surface drills are currently operating at Sunnyside and Glenn Wills South.
