There was a significant dust storm in the general region of the VIC and SA plantations (Mildura) a few days ago, that some of you have probably seen on line. Not sure if these dust storms can impact the trees much at this time of year however. Usually dust storms have occurred in summer - I remember the one in 1983, all the sheep on the farm we lived on turned browny-Orange, and the strawberry crop was ruined as they all became gritty.
On a positive note - and not verified - but lake Eyre filling or part filling is correlated with great ski seasons apparently, according to some skiers I know, and big dumps in the VIC Alps including Falls Creek and Mt Hotham. Might keep the Murray Flowing nicely next year which is good for SHV's water prices.
