The idea that the average Swedish OAP in ICU will think "Great that I and 2000+ other elderly victims are sacrificing ourselves for the greater economic good!" is about as likely as Zlatan Ibrahimovic showing modesty. Also, maybe not the right thing to say on HC but societies are not just great economic sausage factories there to make dosh - we like to think that all lives should be protected as best as practical. Good government policy balances the two.
Australia may have lots of land but the vast majority of the population lives in seven state and territory capitals. We actually have one of the most urbanised populations in the world. We have been fortunate and privileged to get through the current crisis relatively unscathed but are not magically protected from pandemics.
