I expect the interest is more to do with the convenience stores and the high margins they put on product. The petrol just gets the people in the door to spend. The creativity lies in what products and other services you offer your customers (with a $ markup).

Still it is a punt on how much profitable years you will get out of the investment until demand wains as EV increase. I suspect A.L has done his homework.
