This is a very interesting development; Lockheed Martin has just been assigned the patent only 3 weeks ago for "Direct magnetic imaging with metamaterial for focusing and thermal ablation using SPION nanoparticles for cancer diagnosis and treatment"
For those that are not aware Lockheed Martin Corporation, a security and aerospace company, engages in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of technology systems, products, and services worldwide and currently has a market cap of $US107B - they are massive.
What does this mean for IBX? Maybe nothing but would it be possible that Lockheed Martin may secure their SPIONs (nanoparticles) from IBX if they are after the best available? JV with them? Up until now, we've know that small Israel based firm New Phase has been buying our nanoparticles as part of their research for the exact same thing, research into magnetic hyperthermia.
For my reading of this, and it's pretty heavy going, it doesn't sound like the patent covers the manufacturing of the SPIONs themselves but I stand to be corrected. What does everyone make of this?
