I have recently invested in PDN as I am a beleiver of the expansion of nuclear power going forward and the shares are trading at beaten down levels owing to Fukushoma.
Although accidents like Fukishima do and will unfortunately continue to happen I have two firm views;
1. Technology is improving and disasters are likely to be better dealt with year on year. We learn something from each disaster.
2. Nuclear is really the only economically viable alternative to fossil fuels. Solar and wind energy are totally dependant on government grants and in a western world were debt levels need to be cut it is unlikely that generous grants will be forthcoming. In Europe we have the biomass legislation where wood is being burnt to generate energy and I really do not see the green side of burning down the forest and releasing all the related pollution into the atmosphere.
Nobody can be sure of success or failure but I do see that with PDN risks vs rewards are well balanced.
