Maybe it's just me, but I never even notice the thumbs up or down, not even on my own posts.....

I don't look, I don't notice, and I don't vote any. It's nowhere near prominent enough - it's just a tiny number somewhere up in all the mess of the headers.

If they really want to make the voting system worthwhile, then perhaps they should look at another forum (Top Stocks - but without the space - the "profanity" filter won't let me write the name of another forum in here). They have a bright red and white flag for A+ posts. And you can only vote a post UP. If you don't like a post, you just don't vote it at all. The number of A+ votes appears in that flag - it's quite prominent, and you get a sense of how many people appreciated any particular post.

Personally, I think the voting systems are all a bit pointless anyway, and as I said - I never even notice the thumbs sytem on HC.
