Read CNX's last announcement carefully.

Their Gasifier 1 is on "idle" what ever that means ... I think previous statements by the company had it shut down and unlikely to be part of ongoing trials.

The current announcment says that approval is needed from DERM (I think) to restart their burn with Gasifier 2.

Like Cougar's pending reignition of their trial burn, CNX have to submit a statement of environmental effects by 20/8 and have it reviewed over 20 days by the scientific panel before they can reignite.

LNC also have to submit the same statement of environmental effects by the same date.

If DERM squirms over Cougar's four day burn, then they may well be salivating in anticpation over results of burns that have run longer, particularly those involving multiple cells.

I doubt there is anyone involved professionally in UCG that doesn't realise that a) Cougar's external lab mixed a cell sample with an offset well sample b) any cell sample by any ucg burn of any technology will contain elevated levels of certain chemicals c) any properly selected UCG operation is within a region of stable hydrogeological stability in which flows take something like 500 yrs to move 100m.

Lets be realistic about comparisions and political agendas.
