It's a so called Unicorn because of it's increase in value. Similar to LDNs hockey stick analogy, except this company went from $200 mil to $1.7 bil, rather than decline in value like our humble brainchip.
I wouldn't say they are behind, but they seem focused on CNNs. Hard to say, not much tech info in article.
