    Tokyo .....

No one has ever said this is a "definate", but yes, LOK are still a candidate for NWS to buy a "controlling stake" in. In MHO.

And, a "controlling stake" are the very words mentioned by Rupert Murdoch when he spoke of a search engine that he was looking at, that seems now, like ages ago.

Content is King & the overnight discovery of Topix.net (a Co that major newspaper groups, Tribune, Gannett & McClatchy, throught their recent $4.6B purchase of Knight Ridder) are now supplying articles to Looksmart and also the learning of, a massive increase in the number of articles now contained in Looksmart's F/A's, augers well. Where else have they come from?

Topix.net now (also) provide visitors to IACI's Ask Jeeves access to local news gathered from over 7,000 sources. Unlike any other news aggregator, Topix.net provides localized news for over 32,500 U.S. and international localities, & are now "unofficial" partners of Looksmart. (Yet to be confirmed to the market)

“We’re excited to provide Ask Jeeves’ users with neighborhood-level local news,” said Topix.net Chief Executive Officer Rich Skrenta. “By featuring the news we aggregate from every newspaper, radio and TV station, and thousands of other sources, Ask Jeeves users will be able to quickly find the news that matters to them.” >

Barry Diller, the owner of IACI once worked for Rupert Murdoch & was the brains behind the success of FOX Television, in the US. Looksmart's CEO (David Hills) also worked with Barry Diller at About.com when Diller left Fox to become it's CEO. So, there are certain friendly (old) "relationships", that do go back a long way.

Publisher/Media Co's are going down the "network" road ( a journey) that was surprisingly forecast some 8 - 12 months ago, here on this very thread. I have no reason to feel that Looksmart is not a strong candidate to join the Murdoch Empire, yet still remain under separate (as is existing) management & day to day control. I remain confident that it is still, "on the cards". I do have other reasons that I would rather or, prefer not to discuss here.

Course of sales today is most interesting, particularly the "sells" close to the close. ASX hasn't a "clue" on what's going on and the "money" in the know, can control almost as they like. Obviously don't read the boards? LOL !! Must feel they will have an effect on the US tonight? Hardly. I see a possible 'spike', actually. We need to burst through that $5.00pps level.
