    Apart from technology I think we also need more umpires on the panel. Apparently there are only 10 (one of whom Darrell Hair has basically been blacklisted) which given the amount of cricket played is ridiculously low. They talk about players having too much cricket, it is even more of a problem for umpires.

    Whereas players have breaks when not batting and also don't have to be fully focussed all the time in the field, the umpires have to be concentrating fully for virtually the whole match (even if there are two of them - the square leg umpire also has to be on the lookout for issues such as chucking, stumpings/run outs and as backup in case of doubt on the part of the bowler's end umpire) including looking for overstepping by the bowler, follow the line, length and height of the ball in case of lbw shouts, watching the ball to bat for fine edges and then if its hit in the air watching for possiblity of a disputed catch.
