If you look at Merlin, Lucapa have technical people that worked on mine planning at Merlin around 2016-17, on top of that actual mine data from RioTinto from 1999-2003 and the current prices are +20% higher than when they entered into agreement to buy. Merlin avg price is likely around 3X higher than the world avg rough prices so fits nicely into premium end of market.
They also managed to get it on the cheap due to liquidation sale and previous owners incompetence!
