I have dropped off a Bank Cheque to pay for Options etc at Security Registrars in Applecross on several occasions on the day of expiry. NEVER had any refused or not issued. The letter states "cleared funds" then also goes on to say cheques must be lodged by 5pm on 29th. A cheque is not "cleared funds" at the point of receipt, only when the cash is in your account... go figure. A Bank cheque can be stopped although you would need good reason to do so. Not saying this is the way to go, only that it has worked for me......end of story.
