They don't use those. That's why the murder rate in the UK is so low (about one month's worth of Chicago alone, from memory).

Actually, that's not the reason. The UK simply has a much more mature culture, as does the whole of Europe. The States are a young country - uh-oh, that doesn't work, 'cos so is Canada, and Australia is even younger, and they don't have the murder rate of the US, and the Swiss have compulsory gun ownership, so it's not the guns - yep, no excuse, it's just the yanks.
