How do you get a figure of " of at say $420/ metre" ... way, way off the mark.
The ASD-2 Hole was drilled by DDH1 with, as you rightly point out. a funding subsidy from the WA Exploration Incentive scheme.
I had DDH1 quoting me for a job in QLD around the same time for Diamond core drilling for around $150/ m plus mob/ demob and incedentals.
CSA global, who were supervising the work for us also had 2 other drillers slightly below that and a Cloncurry driller quoted me around $100/metre.
You must remember at the time drilling was just starting to pick up and rigs were available but becoming scarce if you delayed too long.
By the way, the CSIRO report @pustayo posted was part of the ASD1/2 interps, part was for selected Purdys and 47K patch rocks. I spoke to the CSIRO geo people about it at the Alice Springs AGES industry conference last March .. they will be there at this years conference.

Like you, at the time I was not enthused about ARV wasting time and money on " geological theory with litho drilling" . It seems some good has come from it in relation to the alteration products pointing to hydrothermal origins for the mineralisation in the area .. including gold. I found it interesting because the rocks and the geochem seems to be very similar to our NT ground (North Australian Craton), the big difference is the age of the mineralised rocks Archaen (WA) vs Proterozoic (NT) .. just 1.5 billion years difference. We have a high grade VMS system with mineralisation of hydrothermal origin.
Just to tidy up a few facts.
