that number a throw away from the Digital Transactions website recent article...
coupla things...you seem to be right about Paypass-a technology more akin to rfid developed by OTI and Amtel with a proprietary operating system for mastercard.
So that means that all Paypass is not necessarily good for Keycorp. Though all the more secure PayPass products relating to contact and EMV seem to use Multos...i think.

...So that the relation of where Keycorp sits on the ladder is important as the market gets more sophisticated.
Now on the Multos site at:
    http://www.multos.com/technology/products/
"There are currently three licensee MULTOS Operating System implementers developing MULTOS and MULTOS step/one products on secure microcontroller hardware from four manufacturers. All MULTOS and MULTOS step/one products complete the rigorous MULTOS Type Approval process to ensure application interoperability and conformance to the specification."

    http://www.multos.com/technology/products/keycorp
It is pretty clear that accepted implementations of Multos rely heavily on Keycorp...the only other two mentioned being Samsung and Hitachi...no Gemplus.
Wish I knew what this all means. But I think I'll be holding...like a few others for the time being!
