the asian growth is mostly all talk so far, and with the track record of ANZ in particular and australian banks in general in relation to "Asia", its more likely to turn out to be a lemon anyhow.

But I have always operated on the theory that the big 4 australian banks always take turns having fiascos and in the long run actually have very comparable performance. Therefore, a strategy of selling the best-regarded ( currently its westpac ), and buying the worst regarded ( currently ANZ or possible NAB ), will possibly give a better return as their performance reverts to normal.
