As mentioned - silica sand prices today are still reflective of the updated Arrowsmith North BFS - it does not "just break even".

Massive capital to develop the mine?
Since when is circa $66m to develop a mine considered massive... Payback from profits would cover that within 4.4 years per updated BFS. VRX could also choose to pay loan off over a longer term, and utilise funds to get the crown jewel Muchea going to.
Keep in mind VRX are sitting on a critical mineral. If you are not aware - the Australian Federal Government, Export Finance Australia, and NAIF. have recently been writing non-recourse loans for amounts closer to the tune of $200mil-$1.4bil over the last 2 years as part of the Australian Critical Minerals Strategy 2023-2030 and shift toward renewable energy.
Have a look at the loans written for Iluka, Arafura, and Hastings if you don't believe me.
$66mil is nothing for a mine's CAPEX - particularly for ASN considering the mine life and scaleability (reserve of 111 years!).
However, I can only imagine these loans will only be sorted once EPA is resolved.
