    FB, that is the problem, you pay peanuts and you get monkeys.

    In essence poor regulation has resulted in an ordinary service.

    In Melbourne at least, the market was flooded with extra government licences to cap the licence values and raise government revenues, diluting income per taxi vehicle.

    Poor regulation over the last 12 years (with no fare adjustments in the last 5 years) has squeezed the industry in Victoria to its current state.

    Sadly, poor inquiry recommendations and reforms will drive the industry into the ground further due to naive economics professors who have a poor grasp of industry dynamics.

    And if you think the taxi industry is poor FB, have you tried public transport lately?
