Did JBH have a business model that was only successful for a brief few moments i.e. between 2007-2010?
JBH may well have hit a sweet spot in the market during that period of time. This was when people started to become frugal, wanted cheap products, but still shopped at a bricks and mortar store.
JBH managed to wedge their rapid growth phase to coincide with their hightened popularity at just the right time - just at the end of the extravagant spending era of pre-2006, and just before the internet-retail 'coming-of-age' era of 2011.
Will JBH hold sufficient market share in the face of a new paradigm in retail trading conditions? Perhaps the 'no-frills, cheap price' business model is no longer suited to bricks and mortar?
