It's been said by many insiders much wiser than your average HC upramper that hybrid is the way to go. Perhaps there will be a better way in the more distant future, but it is not EVs and it will indeed be a more distant future. The current EV extravaganza is a major hype and heavily politicised, so obviously everyone wants to collect some cash as long as the music is playing.
