Does anyone know expected date for the STO WA pipeline an dalso othe rplant to be back supplying and at full capacity. Assuming all maintainance etc will be brought forward so then they have a clear run.

"The Wheatstone outage came on top of a supply loss from Santos Ltd's (STO) Varanus Island operation, which has been shut since late-November due to a leak on a gas pipeline from an offshore platform.

Despite increased gas supply into the Western Australian domestic gas market, Santos continued to experience production constraints at two gas facilities, Alcoa said."

Imagine WA the state with gas reservation etc etc and they have a supply crunch and lower aluminium smelted- always referred to as liquid electricity .? Actually surprised there was enough diesel capacity to wind the plant down - the lights must have dimmed or a very staged shutdown. How can that be when they have been promoted as the model for other states to follow. Expect more of it in teh longer term everywhere a sinvestment in capital equipent etc will be on a needs and quick payback with trigger happy politicians at the helm.

Talking of Politics Albo is in PNG and usually there is a trade delegation associated with it depending on length of visit. Hope Australia is making all the right noises as China trying to influence and be dominate and PNG plays any party off against another. Guess is that politicians in Australia don't want to be seen with evil gas CEO even ones that are Aussie based and account for most of PNG GDP
