I think one thing that many people forget is that natural gas and oil is not just used for energy it is used in a lot of products as an ingredient as well. If we take the energy equation out then it is probably not commercially viable to supply natural gas and oil for these products alone. Like Sun Cable the shear engineering requirement and associated economic cost is not fully realised until you are up to you neck in it and reality kicks in. People seem to have a very narrow and simplistic view sometimes which should be cautioned to consider flow on effects.
