amage to gas market already means Australians will forever pay more for their domestic gas due to producer insecurity and country risk. Government doesn't understand that industry makes decisions every day and can't hang around awaiting next budget etc etc on the off chance that something will change. With the strained dialog between gas industry and government trying to selectively play different players off against each other and using gas users as a bargaining chip this is not a pretty situation. All goods and services that involve the use of gas just had a inflatioary cost locked in going forward - well done govt regardless of when the gas cap is removed etc etc
