Saw this in an Ivanhoe Mines presentation:
A typical hybrid vehicle adds about 300 lbs. of
metal content to the weight of a similar
conventional gasoline vehicle, including:
— 50 lbs. of nickel, and
— 50 lbs. of copper.
In 2005 200,000 hybrid cars were sold in the US - by 2008 this is forecast to be 550,000 = a lot of new nickel demand, bodes well for Ni prices in the medium to long-term.
