An elementary SWOT analysis of Australia would have to include the following Strengths (S): -world's best iron ore & its low cost extraction -world's best Met coal & its low cost extraction -a world leader in gold mining and base metals -a world leader in LNG -low cost thermal coal producer -low cost food producer. -a well educated workforce -low soverign risk,an established rule of law with low levels of corruption.
Is this not a prescription for down stream manufacturing?
Instead we have allowed our country to be treated by multinationals like a 3rd World country (dig it out and ship it out !)
