I have been doing so since 1985 but unfortunately all 4 pollies in the interim have been compromised by relying on big business (including miners)
political donations to gain election/re-election.
Our only hope is that our new found 'Populism will realise that the Left Wing politics is not the enemy, but instead the economic & political elite who have sold out Aus to multinationals and the multinationals themselves and that patriotism begins at home; not fighting American wars overseas.
Saudi Arabia has no personal income tax because its government has decided to reward its citizens as such in lieu of its petroleum wealth.
Our mob tax Aussie individuals to the hilt and let the multinationals who own our mines to rort the tax system. Nice gig for some...eh?
No wonder we have scarce funds to invest in our local resources & their processing & our few billionaires who have benefited from the resource boom are not likely to bite the hands that fed them (the multinationals) by starting down stream processing.
I guess we are slow learners
