My read on the news pieces is that are there to generate interest for those willing to join the trial .. It can be a big ask to get someone to take experimental medicines and then go through testing etc..... Not to take away from the drug - it would be great if it can help patients and if it works it should be rightly fast-tracked for patient benefit.
Prana are well past this phase, with 2 phase 2 trials completed - both with signs of biomarker and cognitive improvements (some trending, some statistically significant) and an extension that has just wound up. Im sure further trial design is around the corner once extension analysis is in to help PBT2 get to market to help those in need.
Best wishes to those and their families who do join the Avanex trial though.
