Not only is the corporate activity a factor but one must also consider the longterm USD v AUD price which is around 80c. Currently we are around 87c and have had a significant correction. If the Platinum price goes to US1200 and the Aussi goes to 80c then the Aussi dollar value of Platinum is 1500 so this should also be considered in buying PLA for the long term.
